Countdown: |
A few things that would be help for the race (Tips from a local runner). Rehoboth half and full marathon countdown: 1.Make sure you get enough rest two days before your race. 2. Eat lot of pasta two nights out and some the night before the race as well – carb load. 3.Do not skip the early water stations. When it’s cold our body lies to us making us feel like we don't need water. ... 4. Start slow and build into the race. Make the first few miles slower that the pace you want to hold for the Marathon. 5. Remember that you body will feel tired way before your mind does. So let your mind control your body not the body control the mind. 6. Also keep in mind that you want to get to mile 13 or 16 feeling comfortable. That's when the race really starts. 7. Bring extra GU or power gels with you. Take one about every 4- 5 miles. You got to put fuel in the body since your burning a lot while running. It will help a whole lot. 8. Runners should make sure they warm up and about 30 min before the race starts. This will allow the body core temp to warm up especially when its cold out side. |
